K1 and Pasuma Rift: Ijebu Fans Snub Pasuma — Obesere Praises Pasuma For His Guts

THE reported tiff between K1 and Pasuma has now got to their fans, as Pasuma learnt the hard way in Ijebu Ode penultimate Sunday during the launching of Queen Lola Ajibola’s movie. His usual fans, who had followed him since he declared allegiance to K1 years ago, and who themselves have been the latter’s fans for decades, refused to ‘paste’ money on his head as he sang their praises for several minutes at the event.

image111-300x187

The film launch took place at the Prime Hall, Molipa on November 25, 2012.

Even when Pasuma swiftly started singing K1’s praise and debunked any rancour between the two, the pool of fans, comprising individuals and members of several society associations in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States, ignored Pasuma and continued to down what was on their tables.

One of the fans, Alhaji Fatai Banjo (a.k.a Koleru), who admitted to be a fan of K1, revealed that it was a collective decision by his Traders Association in Sagamu “to make the young musician see the folly of biting the hands that feeds one”. Hence, the blackout the 17 fans gave Pasuma at the event that Sunday by refusing to part with the usual cash that accompanies praise-singing.

“K1 does not need all the disrespect that he’s getting from this issue, he has been good to a lot of people, Pasuma inclusive,” Koleru said.

“Not until he apologises, we will continue to ignore him”, added Buari Apanifuja.

However, among the few that managed to ‘spray’ Pasuma that night was Nasiru Jayeoba. The businessman said the media took the Arabambi/Oganla issue “way too far and it has got out of Paso’s hands, but there is nothing wrong in what he has done. After all, many others had done so in the past and not much noise was made about it”.

Abass Obesere, however, praised Pasuma for having the guts to cut himself loose from the Arabambi clan as he (Obesere) had always believed Pasuma had the means to stand on his own.

“I told him three years ago that he should dump the clan because he could stand on his own, but he took it personal and stopped talking to me.

“Now, he has proven to be a man, and not a boy anymore. As for K1, I have no problem with him either. He should be happy that Pasuma has decided to move on”.

NEWS: Beyoncé And Pepsi Strike Mega-Deal

Late Sunday Dec. 9, Pepsi hit the newswires with word of an ultra-mega deal with Beyoncé, taking the 10-year-old partnership to a new global scale.

beyonce-pepsi-300x336

The New York Times describes it as a “hybrid project with Beyoncé that will include standard advertising like commercials as well as a multimillion-dollar fund to support the singer’s chosen creative projects.”

“Pepsi embraces creativity and understands that artists evolve,” Beyonce said in a statement. “As a businesswoman, this allows me to work with a lifestyle brand with no compromise and without sacrificing my creativity.”

For now, the brand has simply said that “Beyond the partnership with Beyoncé, we are using our global scale and scope to create a platform to support multiple country-specific Pepsi musical artists.” The most likely interpretation is that they don’t want to be thought of as a company that is paying hired guns to promote the brand, but are moving more toward a social interaction with artists.

Tallest Christmas Tree In West Africa Lit In Lagos

It may not seem much of a big deal lighting the Christmas tree in Nigeria, but it is a very important event in many countries, so much that American singer Rihanna was rumoured to have been paid $8 million (N1.2b) to light one in a London mall.

Whether we appreciate it that much or not, lighting the Christmas tree has become an important part of Christmas we can’t just overlook.

To get into the Christmas mood, the First Lady of Lagos State, Mrs. Abimbola Fashola at the weekend lit up a giant Christmas Tree at the Heritage Garden, Oshodi, Lagos.

According to her, the Christmas Tree was built by the Lagos State Government as part of effort to light up the city of Lagos this season, adding that the 27m by 8 diameter Tree “is the tallest in the whole of West Africa if not Africa.”

Fashola urged Nigerians to be their brother’s keeper, saying; “It is a season of love, let us be our brother’s keeper. It is a season to share love with people, we need to support one another by extending a hand of help to the needy at this season. That is the reason for this season.”

Commissioner for the Environment, Mr. Tunji Bello said the event which was meant to light up Lagos State at the Christmas season would be replicated in other parts of the state.

“From now on, it is going to be Merry Christmas for everybody. Oshodi may be the beginning, there will be others, we want to light the Christmas Tree. This is going to be the first one, and it is not going to be the last. Before we finish this administration, I can assure you that we are going to have many Christmas trees in Lagos,” he said.

Election Monitoring: Embarrassed ECOWAS Vows Never to Invite Obasanjo Again

Following embarrassing and undemocratic utterances by General Olusegun Obasanjo at yesterday’s meeting of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), the leadership of the commission today held a review meeting that could end the possibility of future election observation on its behalf by the former Nigerian leader.

obj_ghana11-300x202

As SaharaReporters reported yesterday, Obasanjo was the figure behind the recommendation of the ECOWAS observation team to curtail the media in election observation that contradicts the position of ECOWAS and other international democracy observers.

A senior ECOWAS official said of today’s development, “Our meeting this evening has resolved, and this will be communicated to the political leadership of ECOWAS, that Chief Obasanjo should be saved the trouble of trying to give what he doesn’t have.”

He said the review was necessitated by the negative reaction generated by General Obasanjo’s role in the observation mission and the potential for it to undermine the credibility of ECOWAS in future observation missions.

According to the senior officer, “You know Obasanjo is a loose cannon. He becomes uncontrollable once bestowed with power. We regret this appointment and vowed never to have the man invited to head missions again.

“ECOWAS was only fortunate to have [been] at an election of an advanced and stable democracy. Were it to be a volatile country, his disposition, recommendations and utterances are not only capable of truncating the electoral process, they are capable of jeopardizing the security and safety of our 250 monitors mobilized from across the sub-region.”

How Can I Stop Having Sex With My Brother-In-Law?

I think I have had it enough, and it’s even becoming more habitual as I always have a fast one with him even when my husband is in the house. My fear is that my husband will soon understand the gimmicks, if we continue in the escapade.

f37a68b248061d4b851d257fb642f4ac

I’m very sorry to say this, but I think I’m an addict, as I get to my pick when I cheat on my husband. I also enjoy it more when it’s done swiftly; just that alone satisfies my libido. However, the reason why I’m so attached to this guy is because he is a complete man. No man can do what he does to me; in fact, it’s unspeakable.

When I met my husband 10 years ago, I knew he was my kind of man, as he was able to satisfy me the very night we met. We both met in one of the universities in the North. We got married just 3 years ago and here I’m trying to battle out of some addiction. I know it’s shameful, but it’s really hard for me to fight.

I had vowed never to be callous to him in any way until his younger brother finished his University programme and came into our house last year. Two months after he got into that house, the entire story changed. We had our first night when my husband went on an official trip. I can’t give you the details of how it all happened, but it was the most regrettable night, as I regretted my action after then. We both concealed it, and pretended nothing ever happened, but from that moment, and even as my husband returned, he has not been able to satisfy me the way his brother did. This has kept me glued to his brother. Most of the time, I sneak out of bed to the toilet at night where we normally meet to do the dirty thing.

I will deliberately wake my husband when he is at the pick of his sleep, informing him that I was going to the toilet. I would always make sure I get back to the room within 5 minutes, but I tell you, I often return satisfied.

I’m gradually losing my joy and dignity as a married woman because of this development. It’s even becoming a daily occurrence, especially now that my shop has been closed permanently due to the ongoing crisis around my area, and I’m always at home with him in the morning. In fact, even as I write this note, I just doubt if we won’t have it the whole of today. I’m really not happy doing this, and I can’t even tell my husband. I know that the very moment he gets hold of the truth, he will throw me out of the house. I won’t tell him, I will protect my marriage. The brother is just so comfortable with what we are doing, as he has never discussed the negative side of our rough game with me. But the problem is that, at the most quiet time, especially when we are alone, and we look at each other, we just can’t stop doing it.

What is the solution please? is my case medical, spiritual or biological? I need your candid advice. I need to find a solution as I cannot continue like this, even as I don’t have a clue.

Following a ‘graphic’ sex scene she acted in an upcoming movie titled ‘Death After Birth’, Ghanaian award-winning actress, Jackie Appiah, is being trailed by a barrage of accusations, among which is infidelity.

Jackie-Appiahs-sex-scandal1

As a result, I heard the babe is in a serious battle at the moment trying to convince everyone that “nothing happened”.

Days back, gist started spreading like wildfire in Accra and Kumasi that Jackie was indeed having an illicit affair with a radio presenter turned actor, Abeiku Santa. And guess what, this story is causing some heat for the babe at the home front.

Sources in Ghana said the sex scene even caused a fight in the studios of Okay FM as Abeiku and his friend, Kwame Amoo, nearly exchanged blow.

The two were said to have rained invectives on each other over the matter. So in a bid to save her face and possibly her marriage, the woman in the middle of the storm, Jackie Appiah, has denied ever making ‘real’ love with Abeiku.

I am sure DNA will exonerate me from this ugly scenario.”

May D Joins MI, Ice Prince At Choc City Weeks After Square Records Sack

There are strong speculations that former Square Records artiste, May D is set to join Audu Maikori-led Chocolate City otherwise known as Choc City. This hint was dropped by one of the label’s artistes, Jude Abaga better known as MI.

may-d

The rapper posted on his twitter page this morning, “It almost sounds like May D is saying… ‘As a choc boy! I go de…..”

Some weeks ago, May D was sacked from his former label. No big reason was given for the slip apart from ‘irreconcilable differences’. May D featured in P-Square’s ‘Chop My Money’ single which featured American music star, Akon in its remix.

May D presently has his hit single ‘Ile Ijo’ gaining massive airplay on both local and international radio and tv stations.

List: See The Top 5 Richest Nollywood Actresses

They are Genevieve Nnaji, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, Omoni Oboli, Funke Akindele and Nse Ikpe-Etim.

nollywood-5-best

Or how else could one explain the success of box office hits like Mirror Boy, Ije, and Tango With Me all having Genevieve Nnaji starring in them? And what about Figurine and Anchor Baby which both starred Omoni Oboli as the lead actress?

Mirror Boy, Tango With Me, Last Flight to Abuja and Phone Swap all had sizeable negative reviews, yet they topped the box office, made huge profit and left many Hollywood movies far behind.

Below is a list of Nollywood’s five bankable actresses, their earnings and what is possibly working for them.

Genevieve Nnaji

Topping the list of five is Genevieve Nnaji. Love or hate her, Genny as she is fondly called, has a way with cinema audiences that make them come back again and again for her movies.

So far, Genevieve’s starring in the movies has grossed over N83 million at the box office. Mirror Boy (described by the actress as her first major film and the first to put her at the box-office) made N18 million, while Ije netted N60 million turning out to be Nigeria’s highest grossing movie ever. But Genevieve had to share the money with Omotola, who also acted alongside her. If the sharing formula is 50-50, then Genevieve gets N30 million of the total gross.

Genevieve’s next movie, Tango with Me went on to make N35 million. So, putting all the figures together, Genny remains at the head of the pack. What seem to be working for Genevieve are her enduring power, popularity and social media connection. The actress has been there for over a decade and is still waxing stronger. Her wine seems to taste better with age.

Another plus for Genny is her popularity. Genevieve is hugely popular across Africa and most especially among the youths. Before now, she has been very active on the social media especially Twitter. She even had to put up a Facebook advert after reports emerged that some acts were ahead of her there.

Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde

Next on the list is Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde with box-office gross of N60 million. She made N24 million with Last Flight to Abuja, N6 million from Private Storm and her N30 million share in Ije bring her total earning to N60 million.

This year alone, no actress has made as much as N24 million from a single movie; Funke Akindele would have done so with The Return of Jenifa but the movie hit the box office in 2011.

Omotola, who was reported to have been paid N5 million by Tarila Thompson all in the bid to make his movie a blockbuster, has been described as the biggest box office actress of 2012. She recorded successes back to back but it remains to be seen if she can pull off the box office magic again with Amina and other movies coming in 2013.

Omotola has been an A-list actress even before Genevieve got her first big break and so what has been working for her is the wise investment in her brand. Her enduring presence and unceasing contact with her fans via the social media has made her popular even in an environment where a mother of four like her is not fashionable.

Funke Akindele

Surprisingly, the third person on the list is Funke Akindele, a young lady who rose to fame in I Need To Know, a TV series, and went on to earn a monstrous fame with Jenifa.

Funke is an unlikely candidate on this list. Now, how can one explain that she is third on a list parading heavy weights like Omoni Oboli, Nse Ikpe-Etim and Stephanie Okereke among others?

So far, Funke has made over N56 million, netting over N20 million in 2012 alone. In The Return of Jenifa, Funke netted N35 million. The movie ran till February 2012. Her movie, Married but Living Single made N9.9 million while Maami made N11 million. The actress is on her way to another cinema glory with a movie, A Wish. Let’s hope she will be able to wave the magical wand again and create a box-office success.

For Funke who recently got married, the plus factor for her is her huge popularity among the masses and elites.

Her movie, Jenifa cuts across all social groups with the street parlance in it becoming the mode of communication in social gathering. And as an icing on the cake, Funke has moved upscale, she is now the toast of events organized by the rich and not so rich. Her box office credibility transcends the cinema as all DVDs parading her face turn into gold.

Omoni Oboli

Omoni Oboli, who is still largely unknown to those who don’t patronise the cinema and social media, is fourth on the list. She is a silent achiever. Before the trio of Genevieve, Omotola and Funke even dreamt of hitting the box office, Omoni Oboli already took the lead. Figurine, her first box office appearance made N13 million while her second effort, Anchor Baby made N18 million bringing her total earning to N31million.

Omoni’s strength is her exclusivity and knack for quality. It is a known fact that if the project is not big and ambitious, Omoni might not do it. The disadvantage of that is, despite her box office credibility, Omoni is still unknown in areas where there is no access to cinemas. Perhaps, that is the reason she tries to make up with the red carpet presence.

For now, the exclusivity is working for Omoni; perhaps her new movie, Broken and other works will introduce a new twist. One other thing that should not be forgotten is the unprecedented publicity of Anchor Baby in 2010. The film also had Omoni at the forefront of meeting and greeting of fans at the cinemas.

Nse Ikpe-Etim

The fifth slot belongs to Nse Ikpe-Etim. She seems to be the latest sensation in big budget movies. In Mr and Mrs, Nse was a delight, her performance was a reference point and it was a hook that kept drawing people to the cinema while the movie was there.

Mr and Mrs made N6 million while another of her film, Phone Swap made N20 million, making a total of N26 million.

Too early for Nse to cement her place, as she hasn’t done N15 million back-to-back but one thing the actress has made clear is that she has intention of doing that. The leading four acts should be afraid of Nse because her strength lies in her pure acting talent.

Nse is born to act, deemed to be unnecessarily assertive a times, but you can’t accuse her of not knowing her lines. And she pushes her movies with virgour, moving from one cinema to the other.

Jail Nurse Accused Of Performing Oral Sex On Prisoner

A jail nurse could find her punishment hard to swallow if she’s convicted on charges stemming from allegations she gave a prisoner oral sex.

prison-bunk

The Post Standard reports that Beth A. Ours, 37, of North Syracuse, was arrested Tuesday morning on a felony count of third-degree criminal sexual act. Ours’ alleged act was a crime because an inmate in a correctional facility is legally incapable of consenting to a sexual relationship with an employee while in custody.

The former inmate, whose name has not been released, told cops he and Ours continued their sexual relationship after he was released. He also said they smoked crack together at her home.

The former prisoner alleged that the sexual encounter in question took place in April.

The Post Standard previously reported that Ours could face up to four years in prison if convicted.

Barstool Sports isn’t so sure the law Ours is accused of breaking was meant for these types of situations.

“Just get rid of the law you have on your books which determines if a man was capable or incapable of consenting to a b—job. The answer is always 100 percent yes,” the author for Barstool writes.

Pictures: See The Mother And Daughter Who Make Porn Together In Order To Get Rich

A mother and daughter in Tampa, Fla., have a unique way of expressing family togetherness — by creating a pornography site and shooting sex scenes together.
sexton4

The duo — known collectively as “The Sexxxtons” — like many porn performers, don’t give out their last names. Jessica, the mom, and Monica, the daughter, have been creating kinky content for their self-titled website for the past year and have just released a DVD.

In order to confirm the Sexxxtons are really related and not just claiming that as a marketing gimmick, The Huffington Post reviewed both women’s driver’s licenses, and their private Facebook pages, as well as private family photos going back 20 years.

Although mother and daughter have sex in the same room at the same time — often with the same male or female partner — they insist that their encounters are not incestuous. For legal and personal reasons, they don’t actually touch each other during sex scenes.

“We don’t have a problem doing two-on-one,” Jessica, 56, explained to The Huffington Post. “We will have sex with one man, but not interact with each other.”

Monica, 22, said the kinky choreography is a lot more difficult than her mom makes it sound.

“It’s not easy to do,” she told HuffPost. “Our lips never touch and that can be a problem when filming.”

Those precautions, the Sexxxtons said, are what keeps their scenes from legally being incestuous, even if experts like Beverly Hills-based psychiatrist Dr. Carole Lieberman, who has never treated the Sexxxtons, considers their activities to be “emotional incest.”

“This crosses so many lines, it’s like a labyrinth,” Lieberman told HuffPost. “Even if they’re not having sex with each other, it has to be titillating to one or both or them, so it crosses the line since sexual arousal comes into the mix.”

Monica acknowledges the mother-daughter porn is enjoyable. “I enjoy the sex and I enjoy being with my mom,” she said. “During the scenes, I think about how we’re going to be filthy rich.”

Money was a factor in deciding to start the family business. Three years ago, Monica said the family — including her younger brother — were about to get evicted from their home. She looked at her options, and decided to become a dancer and also get into porn.

“I’ve always been an exhibitionist and sex just oozed out of me,” she said, adding that she lost her virginity at the age of 12. “It was my idea. I dropped out of school in ninth grade and figured this was a good way to earn money.”

Monica worked as a dancer and got her mom into doing porn first before she did it herself. Jessica agreed to her daughter’s suggestion, saying they’ve always been open with each other.

“The money was part of the reason, but so was fun, and having sex with hot guys,” Jessica said, adding that she prefers her new job to her old career, bartending, for one simple reason: “You don’t have to get dressed to go to work.”

For the most part, the Sexxxtons only have sex in the same room when on camera, but Jessica said they did do a threesome with one of her boyfriends one night. “We were talking about sex and it happened. We all had a good time,” she said.

Monica has no plans to have a child of her own, but she and Jessica agree that if she had a child who wanted to go into the family business at a legal age, they’d allow it.

There are limits though: No animals and Monica doesn’t want to film scenes with her younger brother. “He’s a virgin and I don’t want his first sex experience to be with someone who is just doing it for money and isn’t into him,” she said.

Family-oriented porn can be a fairly common fantasy scenario, but it is rare to have real family members work together in scenes.

In 1998, “Three Brothers,” a gay porn film, featured three real-life brothers, Vince, Shane and Hal Rockland, in a sex scene with an unrelated male but they didn’t have sex with each other.

In addition, the Milton twins, Cali Marie and Cherish, have done scenes together since 2004, usually not touching. In 2008, porn star Elli Foxx filmed a scene with her mother, Desi, for a film called “Wanna F*** My Daughter Gotta F*** Me First 2.”

According to an interview they did with Howard Stern, they made sure to stay 10 feet apart while filming.

Monica may see filming sex scenes with her mother as a ticket to the big time, but adult film historian Bill Margold doubts they will be able to parlay their notoriety to mainstream porn.

“The adult industry is not that stupid,” Margold told HuffPost. “They have enough problems without creating on-camera incest.”

Punishment: Boy Beaten To Death For Lateness, Farmer Fed To Dog For Rudeness

A school boy was beaten to death by a teacher for being late to school in Pormianan village in Hasanabdal town of the Punjab province in Pakistan. He succumbed to injuries in a local hospital.

06d80eb0c50b49a509b49f2424e8c805

Mohammad Hasnain, the eighth-grade pupil who was punished by his physical training teacher for his lateness was taken to a local hospital where he died late Saturday night. The teacher is absconding.

In another incident in Multan district of the Punjab province of Pakistan, a farmer was thrown to savage dogs as a form of punishmentfor rudeness by a local landlord and his son.

Allah Bakhash, along with his son Asif, the local landlords, attacked Mohammad Hanif, a farmer and later threw him to the dogs.

Hanif was taken to a hospital in Shujabad where the required medicines were not available and his wounds turned gangrenous. He was then admitted to Nishtar Hospital in Multan, where he died.

The police, instead of registering a case against the landlord, filed a case of molesting and attacking a feudal lord against the victim.

However, the police later told the local media that they were investigating the matter and would soon lodge a case against the landlord and his son.

The constitution prohibits torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment but such cruel incidents have been rampant in Pakistan.

Police and lower courts in the Asian country largely remain corrupt, inefficient and subject to pressure from wealthy, prominent and political persons.

Overzealous Akpabio’s security men beat journalist to coma

Nigeria security agents have again displayed why they are widely regarded as lawless and unprofessional.

Their symbolic assault on members of the media was reproduced on Sunday at the 50th birthday party of Akwa Ibom State Governor Godswill Akpabio, as the Uyo correspondent of The Nation newspaper was beaten to a pulp.

About six operatives of the State Security Service attached to Akpabio reportedly descended on Mr. Kazeem Ibrahim at the entrance of the Governor’s lodge in Uyo.

Ibrahim and other newsmen had been invited by the governor’s media office to cover the event, but on getting to the venue, the reporter was accosted by the security agents who ceaselessly kicked and slapped him while others hit him with batons and guns. No cogent reason was given for the treatment.

Sources say the operatives left him after he became unconscious. His colleagues then rushed him to an undisclosed hospital where he is currently on admission.

DailyPost gathered that the Akwa Ibom State director of the SSS, Toma Minti, rushed to the scene and pleaded with journalists to forgive his men, promising to investigate the matter.

The Akwa Ibom State Government is yet to officially comment on the matter.

It would be recalled that similar event occurred some months ago when President Goodluck Jonathan visited Uyo. Akpabio’s security team manhandled some journalists, an incident that instigated a friction between the Akwa Ibom Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the state government.

DailyPost learnt that the second round of the extravagant birthday bash continues on Monday.

3 Million Condoms For Calabar Festival

Cross River State Agency for the Control of HIV and AIDS has acquired more than three million condoms for distribution at the Christmas Carnival village in Calabar.

The Director-General of the agency, Dr. Irene Aniyom, told the News Agency of Nigeria at the village in Calabar on Sunday that the measure was to create more awareness on HIV and check the prevalence level.
She explained that the youths were targeted in the distribution of condom because they were the active participants at the annual carnival.
She added that SACA and her partners would also offer free counselling and test on the scourge during the 32-day event.
Aniyom advised youths against using the festival as avenue for sexual activities, warning that “even if they should indulge in such practice, they should ensure that they use condom”.
She said Calabar South Local Government Area and Calabar Municipality Local Government had the highest HIV and AIDS prevalence.
She said 244,106 persons in the state were currently living with the HIV and AIDS.
She advised tourists and fun seekers patronising the festival village to avail themselves of the free counseling and test offered by the agency during the period.
“There is the need for people to take advantage of the testing and counselling to know their HIV status. This will enable them to control their excesses,” she said.
The SACA boss stated that Cross River was one of the states in the country that was making conscious effort to tackle HIV and AIDS.
“Gov Liyel Imoke is the Chairman of SACA in our state and he had done so much in supporting the agency. Whatever achievement we have made, we owe it to him,” she said.
