A nurse has been found guilty of manslaughter after causing a baby’s death by botching his circumcision.

Grace Adeleye, 67, carried out the procedure on four-week-old Goodluck Caubergs at an address in Chadderton, Oldham, in April 2010. The boy bled to death before he could reach hospital the following day. Adeleye was found guilty of manslaughter by gross negligence at Manchester Crown Court. The nurse, who denied the charge, had told the jury she had done “more than 1,000″ circumcision operations without incident. The court heard that Adeleye and Goodluck’s parents were from Nigeria, where the circumcision of newborns is the tradition for Christian families. Adeleye, of Sarnia Court, Salford, was paid £100 to do the operation. The jury was told that she carried out the procedure using a pair of scissors, forceps and olive oil and without anaesthetic. She had claimed there had been “no problem” when she left the infant and that his parents had been pleased with the operation. However, the court heard that when Goodluck’s parents had changed his nappy several hours later, they had found a large amount of blood and phoned Adeleye, who had told them to redress the wound. Goodluck’s parents called an ambulance the following morning and he was taken to the Royal Oldham Hospital, where he died a short time later. A spokesman for NHS Oldham said had the family gone to the hospital and asked for a circumcision, “they would have been advised to go to an approved practitioner who would have charged £100, the same as Grace Adeleye”. Following the guilty verdict, Adeleye was bailed while pre-sentencing reports are prepared. The Crown Prosecution Service’s Jane Wragg said the case “was not about the rights or wrongs of circumcision, but the grossly negligent way in which the procedure was undertaken”.”Goodluck Caubergs was a healthy little boy whose tragic death was wholly unnecessary,” she said. “Goodluck died because the standard of care taken by Grace Adeleye in carrying out the circumcision fell far below the standard that should be applied. “She also failed to inform his parents of the risks and possible complications, which ultimately led to his tragic death.”

Two Maximum Security Prison inmates were allegedly caught having anal sex in a dog kennel.

Morgan Ruzvidzo (40) and Marceline Kadungure (22) were allegedly caught red-handed by a prison officer during the act.

They were not formally charged with aggravated indecent assault when they appeared before Harare magistrate yesterday. Ms Tshuma remanded the duo to January 29 this year for trial. They will be in custody.

Ruzvidzo, who told the court he was left with 20 days to complete his jail term, has been in prison for the past six years. The two convicts are doing time at Chikurubi Maximum Security Prison, based at the prison farm in Highlands, Harare, Zimbabwe.

Prosecutor Mr Tungamirirai Chakurira alleges that the incident took place on November 6, this year and the offence was discovered by Nyashadzashe Mawereza, a prison officer who was on duty.

The State says Mawereza discovered that one of the dog kennels was not locked as per the custom and went to check why the door was still open.

On arrival, the court heard, he peeped through and saw Ruzvidzo sodomizing Kadungure. He reported the case to the officer in charge, leading to the pair’s arrest.

Man accused of having sex with a donkey claims constitutional rights

A Florida man accused of having sex with a miniature donkey named Doodle is protected by the United States Constitution, his lawyers say.

In a motion obtained by Ocala.com and filed with Marion County court, Carlos Romero’s attorneys argue that the state’s anti-bestiality law deprives Romero of his “personal liberty and autonomy when it comes to private intimate activities.”

Romero’s lawyers said the statute violate’s their client’s due process rights and the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment in the U.S. Constitution.

The 32-year-old previously rejected a plea deal that would have required a year of probation, a $200 fine, a psychosexual evaluation and possible treatment, STD testing, no contact with children in a school setting, no ownership or possession of any mammals and revocation of his license to work in horse racing.

The accusations stem from an August incident in which a witness reportedly saw Romero with his pants down “up against the rear of the donkey,” according to the Smoking Gun.

Romero reportedly stepped away from the donkey and pulled up his pants when he saw the witness.

But, when Marion County detectives questioned him about the incident, he allegedly admitted that, when the donkey is in heat, he will stand behind her, scratch her withers and masturbate. He says he “likes the way her fur feels on his privates,” according to WSTP-TV.

GeekoSystem writes that Romero’s lawyers deserve credit for fighting for their client.

All joking aside, no one can accuse Romero’s trio of public defenders — Joshua Wyatt, Scott Schmidt and Joshua Lukman – of not doing absolutely everything in their power to win the day in court for the so-far less than entirely cooperative Mr. Romero. These three guys are going to have their names attached forever to a legal document stating that sex with animals shouldn’t be against the law because they believe their client deserves the best representation they can offer.

Romero has testified that he wants his case to go to trial. If he’s convicted of bestiality, Romero could face a year in county jail.

Lionel Messi in Guinness World Records for most goals scored in a calendar year

Barcelona football star Lionel Messi has written his way into the history books after notching up the Guinness World Records title for the most goals in a calendar year by netting his 86th goal of 2012.

Lionel-Messi-in-Guinness-Records
The 25-year-old Argentine edged past Gerd Mueller’s long-standing record of 85 – set in 1972 – to set a new benchmark, which includes goals for club and country.

Messi clinched the record after hitting the target twice in Barca’s 2-1 win over Real Betis on Sunday.

The Three-time World Player of the Year drilled in an angled shot after 16 minutes to equal the German’s record before adding a second with a shot driven low in the 25th minute to set the new mark.

However, according to the Zambian FA, the record was never Muller’s to be broken, but was rather Kabwe Warriors striker Godfrey Chitalu who scored 107 goals, also in 1972.

The five-time Zambian player of the year’s feat was never officially recognised by FIFA, but Zambian officials have approached football’s governing body to have the goals officially recorded.

There have also been claims from Brazilian club Flamengo Messi is still one goal shy of the record set by Brazilian Zico, who the club say scored 89 goals in 1979.

The midfielder, who played in three World Cup campaigns for the South Americans between 1978-86, scored 81 goals for the Rio-based club, seven with Brazil and one in a friendly.

“Messi has not bettered the record,” said Bruno Lucena, a club historian.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s mother ‘freed by kidnappers’

(Reuters) – Kidnappers freed the 82-year-old mother of Nigerian Finance Minister Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala on Friday, five days after she was taken from her home in southeastern Nigeria, a senior security official said.

“She has been released now by her captors and she is at home,” said the source, who had confirmed Kamene Okonjo’s kidnapping on Sunday in Delta state.

He gave no further details. It was not clear if the abduction of Okonjo was political or for financial gain. Her daughter has served twice as finance minister and was also a director at the World Bank.

Nigeria’s army said on Thursday that soldiers had arrested 63 people in raids conducted during the search for Okonjo.

Kidnapping is rife in Africa’s top oil producer, making millions of dollars a year for the criminal gangs who engage in it. It is common across the south, especially in the oil producing Niger Delta where Okonjo was abducted.

The number of kidnappings also tends to surge in December, when the criminals need money for year-end festivities.

Political motives had been suggested for the abduction. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s drive to reform a corrupt economy ruffled powerful vested interests, especially fuel importers, and her mother was involved in local politics.

Nigerian authorities never discuss whether or not ransoms are paid.

Picture: Nigerian Singer “Tito Da Fire” Caught With Club Stripper

One of Nigeria’s sensational singers and On Air Personality (OAP), Tito Da Fire had a fun-filled day on twitter. Tito tweeted a picture showing him and a lady that looked more like a club stripper caressing each other. They were caught pant down in the picture.
This got some reactions from some of his followers before he quickly deleted the picture. One of the followers, who informed Aproko247 of this development, revealed that as soon as two ladies commented on the picture, he (Tito) removed the picture immediately.
Anjola Ajayi, one of the ladies that commented on the picture before it was deleted, angrily tweeted: “What’s this rubbish? Why are you playing with my heart?”
Digs done by Aproko247 show that both Tito and Anjola might be in a relationship as there were fingers pointing in that direction. The duo, as our findings reveal, are presenters of a radio programme ‘In Da Mix Party Time’.
Impeccable sources further divulged to Aproko247 that Tito is a regular visitor of nude clubs in Lagos. It was gathered that he is always in company of a lady identified as Isabella, a model-dancer. Isabella was featured in Timaya’s “Bum Bum” music video that was later banned. She was also in Naeto C and MI Hennessy’s “Bartender” music video. Isabella is presently in high demand for her erotic dance steps.
Tito Da Fire has always been in the news especially on his romance with ladies. He was once reported to be dating his co-host of Star Music Show, Coco (Eyiyemi Pratt) in 2003. Also he was alleged to have dated one MITV presenter named Ebere some years back when they were both frequent items at Marwa Gardens and pool side of some exotic hotels in Lagos and Abuja.

My wife slaps me when I ask for food, man tells court

The man says he is afraid of his wife, so he wants out.
A 46-year-old Ilorin resident, Bello Zakariyau of Niger Road, Ilorin, on Thursday told an Ilorin Area Court that his wife was in the habit of slapping him whenever he asked her for food.
He prayed the court to dissolve the three-year-old marriage with Fatimoh Zakariyau, because he was tired of her slaps.
The petitioner told the court that his wife was hot tempered and aggressive.
“My wife slapped me just because I asked her for food and also shouted on me to get off her sight if I don’t want trouble,” he said.
Mr. Zakariyau told the court that the problem started on Sept 11 when his wife refused to cook for him and their only child.
He told the court that their marriage was contracted in 2009 and had produced a male child, Ananfi, aged 2.
“My Lord, I want an end to this marriage because I am so scared of my wife,” said the husband.
The defendant denied the allegation, saying the slaps she gave her husband was a mistake.
“It was a mistake that my hand went to his face because I was trying to protect myself when he was coming to beat me,” she said.
Mr. Fatimoh told the court that she refused to cook for the family because her husband does not provide money to prepare the food.
She prayed the court not to grant the prayer of the plaintiff, saying that she was still interested in the marriage.
The presiding Judge, Ibrahim Abdulquadri, adjourned the case to December 27 to allow for reconciliation.

Manager, housemaid, kill boss, take over business

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a manager and a housemaid for killing their boss, Alhaja Sikirat Eko, in Omole Phase 1, Lagos State.
Eko was said to be running a restaurant and bar in her compound, where she lived alone with the maid.
According to the police authorities, the suspects allegedly killed Eko at her home located on 5, Babatunde Ladega Street and kept her corpse within the premises.
The suspects were said to have continued to run the restaurant, giving neighbours and customers the impression that the deceased had travelled.
The two were said to have run out of luck when relatives of the deceased came on a visit. When the suspects could not provide a satisfactory answer, the matter was said to have been reported at Area G Command, in Ogba.

A police source who preferred to remain anonymous, told our correspondent that the manager threw Eko into a well inside the compound along with a generator.
The manager was said to have taken her phone which he used in impersonating her.
“The manager was using the deceased’s phone and assumed her identity. Sometimes, he would send text messages with her phone, telling people that all was well”, he said.
It was learnt that when the house was thoroughly searched, Eko’s corpse was found in a decomposing state.
A family friend, who preferred to remain anonymous, said, “Mummy (Eko) has just one child and she lives in the United Kingdom. When she could not get her mother on the telephone, she called relatives to help her find out what was wrong.
“When the relatives got there, the manager told them that she had travelled. The relatives became suspicious because the house was left open and the manager behaved as if he was the owner of the house. The relatives then reported the matter to the police.”
Our correspondent, who visited the area on Thursday, observed that the gate of the premises was locked.
A security guard in the area said Eko hadn’t been seen by neighbours in over two months.
The security guard described the deceased as a very nice but strict woman.
He said, “The last time we saw madam (Eko) was during Sallah. When we asked the housemaid her whereabouts, she said she had travelled to Abuja. I became suspicious because her vehicle was still parked outside the compound.
“It wasn’t until Saturday when policemen stormed the area that we knew what had happened. Policemen arrested about five of us, thinking that we were among but fortunately, the manager and the maid confessed.
“The incident is very sad because madam (Eko) was a very nice person. There was one time that my motorcycle was seized. She was the one that urged the police to give it back to me.”
When contacted on the telephone, the spokesperson for the state police command, Ngozi Braide, confirmed the incident to our correspondent.
Braide said the manager was the one who planned the killing. She added that the two would be paraded before journalists on Friday (today).
“The two suspects have confessed to the crime and they will be paraded before journalists on Friday,” she said.
